Ella and Pete met at camp when they were 16 years old. He let her borrow his headphones and introduced her to Van Morrison's music. The two began dating six years later at the University of Puget Sound. Their "upscale picnic" reception included fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans and homemade pies--an homage to their camp days in Northern Minnesota.
Ella's turquoise necklace was something old and something blue. Her father gave it to her mother in the 70s.
