Our Most Chubby Baby…Ever

This baby photo is 14 years old and still the best we’ve ever taken. We’ll probably never take another one like it because we’ll never again have all the same ingredients at a photo shoot. Here’s the recipe:

  • 2 goofy, playful photographers (Scott and Jessica)

  • 1 first-time mom who knows and trusts photographers intimately (Jessica’s sister-in-law)

  • 1 extra chubby baby with the longest butt crack we’ve ever seen (Jessica’s nephew)

  • 0 expectations for a family photo or birth announcement (she did the shoot because it was free and we wanted to experiment)

  • 12 weeks of maternity leave so mom doesn’t feel rushed at photo shoot

  • Dash of knowledge that babies are happier when they are naked

  • 1 warm, dry day so baby is comfortable being naked (and doesn’t pee on mom)

  • 1 photo editor who chooses the photo from 100s of options and crops it just right
