Sarah and Rick found us 17 years ago when they were pregnant with their first child. A friend in their lamaze class recommended us. We lived in Rochester and they lived in St. Paul but that didn’t matter. Scott told them we’d be happy to make the drive.

Sarah and Rick started with a maternity session and purchased a “Hey Baby” photo shoot package so they could do 3 more photo shoots with their baby girl, Kiera, in her first year. The photo shoots included grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles - everyone who loved and adored her. Then, Sarah became pregnant with baby boy Declan and we started the whole cycle over.

The babies didn’t grow or change as quickly after their first year so Sarah and Rick slowed down to one photo shoot per year and never skipped a year. Not even during COVID. Now, 23 photo shoots later, Sarah and Rick’s little family has a library of professional photos that not only documents their love for one another, but also their first steps and favorite things. From ice cream and purple hair to fire stations and the Minnesota State Fair, it’s all here.

“From ice cream and purple hair to fire stations and the Minnesota State Fair, it’s all here.”

The photos, below, are a small sampling of the family’s entire collection. They include pools, costumes and cardboard forts because that was what the kids were into at the time. The locations also had personal significance. Rick is a volunteer firefighter and enthusiastic Vikings fan (he has season tickets, a purple faux fur and a purple bus for tailgating). So, it was meaningful to him that we devote entire photo shoots to both.
