Kick @$$ Grad Card
Alonso’s mom asked us to design a graduation announcement instead of an invitation. Both types of cards look identical to each other but one includes party information and the other doesn’t.
Friends Forever (I Hope)
These boys have been friends for 14 years. That’s a long time when you consider they didn’t always go to the same schools, play the same sports or live on the same sides of town. They also had to isolate at home for a year-long pandemic.
A Smack in the Face
She gave her son one of the volleyball photos because she knew he had way more fun smacking her in the face than hugging her tight.
Goalie Makes a Big Splash
The sun didn’t poke through the clouds until the very end of our family and senior photo shoot. When it did, Mom and I called it quits and ran for air conditioning.
Jazz Musician
Harry is a high school senior at Mayo High School and a jazz pianist. He is so talented, he’s already performed at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis.
Once in a Lifetime Photo Shoot
Mother Nature enveloped us with swarms of mating mayflies and blood-sucking mosquitos. She entertained us with jumping fish and soaring bald eagles. And, she launched a flock of birds into flight just as Annalise struck a figure skating pose.
Whatever Floats Your Boat
Jacob loves shopping at second-hand stores (that’s where he found his tropical shirt and yellow boat) and playing in the river that runs past his house.
State Tennis Champ
We flippantly asked if Claire was any good at tennis. Turns out, she’s better than good. She’s THE BEST in Rochester and in the State of Minnesota!!
Goalie Pops Air Mattress
Scott put our twin-size inflatable mattress on the ground and told Ryder to jump higher and higher. Ryder landed on the air mattress harder and harder.
Class of 2025
Say “hello” to the Class of 2025! These are the most recent photos Scott and I added to the senior photography section of our website.
Lifetouch vs. Olive Juice Studios
Lifetouch is so well-known for its school photography, people have started using it as a noun for any/all school photographers. The noun, however, has negative connotations.
Senior Photos (Again)
The last time we photographed these kids, they were seniors at Mayo High School. Now they are graduates of UW Madison!
The Char and Michelle Show
These long-time friends jumped at the chance to talk about Olive Juice Studios on camera.
Taco Truck for Twin Seniors
We photographed Kyle and Josh when they were newborn babies. The next time we photographed them was last Summer when their mom asked us to take their senior photos. It was another one of those full circle moments that still gives me goosebumps when I think about it.
Senior Under Construction
Tony wanted urban-style senior photos so we took him downtown and embraced the construction mess that is otherwise known as Destination Medical Center (DMC).
Senior Photographer Review
Scott asked Taylor and her mom Danah to talk about their senior photo shoot experience with Olive Juice Studios. They said such nice things, we couldn’t wait to share this video with you.
SEMYO Senior Photos
Parker is the quintessential all-american, girl-next-door. Sweet and beautiful inside and out. We took so many amazing senior photos for Parker, her parents bought a photo book so they could keep all of them. They also asked us to submit her violin photo to Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestras.
Sunset Senior Photos
Linnea almost hired someone else to photograph her senior photos. She had her heart set on sunset photos in a field of tall grass but she didn't see any examples on our website. Her mom begged her to talk to us anyway.
What to Wear: Seasonal Colors
Fall is every Minnesotan’s favorite time of year. I know because that’s when 99.9% of our families want their annual photos taken.
What Not to Wear: GAP
If you’re planning to buy new outfits for your senior photo shoot, don’t shop at GAP.
